Gabby Howitz

Gabby Howitz is an illustrator and apparel designer based in Pennsylvania. They are the cofounder of indie clothing brand Uchuu Summer. They attended Maryland Institute College of Art where they met Uchuu Summer’s other cofounder, Billies. Gabby’s art is inspired by nature, magic, space, and nostalgia.

Uchuu Summer

Uchuu Summer is an indie brand, founded in 2016, specializing in apparel, zines, and goods. It is the work of two artists, Gabby Howitz and Billie Snippet (Billies). The brand is influenced by Japanese fashion, a retro aesthetic, and anime. Outside of their online store, their merchandise is stocked in several stores in the US, and Japan “Uchuu Summer” means “The Universe of Summer”. It aims to evoke the feeling of summer, nostalgia, and the dreaminess of space.

Billie Snippet
December 12 - January 10
Billie Snippet, widely recognized as ‘Billies’, is a Korean American illustrator and co-founder of Uchuu Summer. Currently based in Seoul, Billies creates self-published illustration books and comics, and has worked in collaboration with OMOCAT, PARK Harajuku, and Futurefunk musician Night Tempo. Distinguishable by nostalgic elements and striking colors, her work is inspired by early 90's Japanese manga and animation, citypop music, and urban life.
